He opened the bus door

Three soldiers who survived a massacre of 33 privates in the Turkish armed forces 12 years ago told of their experiences. The year was 1993. They got onto two civilian minibuses leaving from Malatya. They were all in civilian clothing. Their uniforms and army boots were in their bags. None of them were armed, nor were any army personnel accompanying them.  
Gul: Let no one play politics with Turkey

In response to a claim made by Greek Cyprus, which is recognized by the EU as a full member, Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said on Thrusday, "Let no one play politics with Turkey." The Greek Cypriot administration backed by the French have stated that Turkey has no right to change the rules of a club it is trying to join. In response Gul stated that Turkey was not yet a full member of the EU and that only full EU members were required to open their ports to all members of the EU.  
President Sezer expresses
sadness of Iraqi loss

Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer has expressed his sorrow over the death of the Iraqi people, who were crushed in a stampede on a bridge that crosses the Tigris river, in Baghdad on Wednesday. The president sent a message to Iraqi President Jalal Talabani also offering his condolences to relatives of the victims. The stampede in which almost 1000 people died occurred when a pilgrims who were crossing the bridge became alarmed after rumors spread of a suicide bomb attack.  
PKK holds sporting event in Europe
The outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) in Europe organized a bicycle tour from Lahr to Freiburg in Germany, under the title of “Let’s develop the resistance, free Ocalan”. Following the bicycle tour, the separatist organization started a “homeland and freedom” march from Brussels to Cologne. In reaction to the events General Yasar Buyukanit voiced his dismay at the August 30 Victory Day reception, which were included in intelligence reports.  
DEHAP official arrested
Nazim Kok, municipality branch leader from the Democratic People's Party (DEHAP), has been arrested for allegedly referring to the Kurdish militant, who was killed in clashes that occurred in Trabzon, as a martyr. The man who died was believed to have been a member of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).  
Iraq hangs three convicted criminals
Iraq carried out its first three executions since the fall of the former dictator Saddam Hussein on Thursday, saying that it would deter criminals in the country. "This is the highest punishment against people who were killers and were executed despite protests from the international community. It will help deter criminals from committing crimes," said government spokesman Leith Kubba.
