An alert was issued for two men after police investigated a suspicious fire in a building outside the southern Mediterranean resort Antalya. Explosives and two fake passports were found in the building, police reports said. Sakka is one of two men who were arrested last Saturday, the second, Hamed Obysi, 21, was picked up while trying to bribe Syrian customs police to allow him into Syria. Sakka was arrested while trying to board a plane in Diyarbakir to Istanbul with fake Identification.
Security official believe that both men have links to Al Qaeda and that they provided financial backing for the November 2003 Istanbul bombings, which killed more than 60 people and injured hundreds.
Both men have denied the claims by Turkish security officials. Mr Sakra's lawyer, Ilhami Sayan, said, "My client denies any ties to the terrorist organization Al Qaeda."
Five Israeli cruise ships, carrying 5000 passengers, were diverted from Turkey to Cyprus.
