London underground blasts rock the UK capital

Only one day after the celebrations of London winning the 2012 Summer Olympics bid, the city of London has been turned into a scene of panic and despair as six explosions blasted through the London underground early Thursday morning. Services on the London Underground have been suspended following the six explosions that occurred along the Metropolitan line. The source of the blasts has not yet been clarified, although, some say that it may have been a power surge, while others report that a device was found at one of the sites.

The National grid who supply electricity to the London Underground said that there had been no cause for concern with regards to the electricity supply.

Two buses that were outside one of the stations were damaged in the explosions, some eyewitnesses saying that the bus was ripped apart like a can of sardines with bodies falling all over the place.

Hospitals are now only taking in emergency cases, officials say.

British Transport police say that the incidents happened at Aldgate, Edgware Road, Old Street, and Russel Square stations, although other locations have been reportedly affected by blasts too; King's Cross and Moorgate.
