Republican People's Party (CHP) MP for Istanbul Kemal Dervis, who was recently chosen to head up the UN's Development Program (UNDP), officially served his resignation at the Turkish Parliament (TBMM) yesterday. Dervis said that he will make a final speech at tomorrow's general TBMM meeting. "I will bid everyone farewell" said Dervis.
Recently, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan received Dervis in Ankara for a private council. Answering questions following his meeting with PM Erdogan, Dervis said that he had thanked the PM for his support during the selection process, and noted that he was representing Turkey in the appointment to the UN office. |
