A conservative protector of the Catholic Church's doctrines, Ratzinger has chosen the Papal name "Benedict" for himself, making him Pope Benedict XVI.

Israeli company awarded Turkish defense contract

Turk released from Guantanamo Bay
A Turkish man who was held for three years and four months without charge at the US detention center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, was released Tuesday and flown to the southern Turkish military base of Incirlik. The 24-year-old Turk was released on one condition that he be handed over to the Turkish military for dodging mandatory service. |
