With all of the attention being brought to the world stage by the Armenians regarding the alleged genocide at the hands of the Turks, documents from the Prime Ministerial archives show that the deaths were not only on the Armenian side of things. "In researching our own history, we come face to face with our own loss and pain," says General Manager of the Ministerial Archives, Yusuf Sarinay.
"1915 was a result"
Noting that the Armenian claims had locked all attention to only point in 1915, Sarinay said further "The problems didn't begin in 1915. Instead, 1915 was a result." Recounting how Armenian groups had slaughtered thousands of Turks in Anatolia prior to that date, Sarinay said also: "The Armenians were unable to get a majority population in the land that the British, French and Russians had promised. These governments had made this a stipulation. Which is why they carried out the slaughter of Turks in Anatolia." The archives have been compiled into a list of dates and numbers of Turkish citizens allegedly slaughtered at the hands of the Armenians.
