Oil will start to flow through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) crude oil pipeline in June of 2005, Gokhan Cologlu, director general of the Turkish part of the project, said on Tuesday. Taking the floor in a Caspian-Black Sea Oil and Gas Conference held in Turkish capital of Ankara, Cologlu said that the first transfer would take place in September.

Meanwhile, officials of BTC company said that 3,000 barrels of oil would be pumped through the pipeline at the first stage. In fact, the pipeline has a capacity to pump 1 million barrels of oil a day. The pipeline will start to work with this capacity in 2008 or 2009.
