The resignations are seen as a healthy shake up showing the Turkish politics is alive, well and still exercising its democratic ways. Akdogan said that AKP had failed to utilize its parliamentary majority in the past two-and-a-half years.
The second set of resignations came from Ersoy Bulut, Ahmet Guryuz Ketenci, Mustafa Sayar, Zubeyir Amber and Hakki Akalin from opposition Republican People's Party (CHP).
Present seats in parliament are: CHP has 163 seats, AKP 360 seats. SHP is the newest member of parliament with five seats.
