Replying to questions of journalists following the dinner, Prime Minister Erdogan said that Greece had finalized works on the energy corridor.
''We want to further improve our economic and commercial relations as well as those in area of tourism with Greece. Also, we aim to increase our bilateral annual trade volume, which is actually about 1.8 billion U.S. dollars, up to 5 billion U.S. dollars,'' he said.
Prime Minister Erdogan said that Greek Premier Caramanlis pledged to extend support to Turkey's EU membership bid.
Turkey would use its political will regarding the entry negotiations due to start with the EU on October 3rd, 2005, Erdogan said.
Upon a question about the Cyprus issue, Erdogan told reporters, ''Turkey and Greece, as two guarantor states, have positive attitudes.The real process will start between Mehmet Ali Talat and Tassos Papadopoulos after the presidential elections in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on April 17th. We are in favor of resolution within framework of the United Nations. We observe that the parties have the political will for this.''
