Landslide in Koyulhisar
A landslide in central Turkey buried 21 houses Thursday, and at least 17 people were reported missing, the areas governor said. The landslide struck the village of Sugozu near the town of Koyulhisar in central Anatolian Sivas province early in the morning. It was not clear what caused the landslide, an officer with the paramilitary police said, adding that it was not caused by heavy rains. |

Remembrance ceremony revived after 47 years
A remembrance ceremony for six martyred Turkish soldiers, the first of its type to be held in 47 years, was held in Istanbul yesterday. The soldiers were killed, while they slept in a military station at Sehzadebasi Karakolu, March 16, 1920, during the British occupation. |
