The Constitutional Court has annulled a law that supported the sale of real estate to foreigners, the annulment will be implemented fully within three months allowing for any deals currently under way to be tied up, real estate currently owned by foreigners will not be affected by these changes.

Lead attorney Haşim Kılıç pointed out that there would be new arrangements made to fill the vacuum of the old legislation. He said, “This decision is not to be interpreted as meaning that no property should be sold to foreigners. It just did not appear to have enough legal guarantees and restrictions.”
