The U.S. embassy replied to the anxiety voiced by a spokesman from the presidential palace by saying that Edelman's words had just simply been misunderstood.
Presently two different dates exist in the Cankaya Köskü protocol for Sezer's visit. The visit is planned to take place April 13 and 14. As an alternative, in the case of extraordinary circumstances that should not permit the trip to go ahead, a second set of dates have been scheduled for April 20 and 21.
Sezer said that the purpose of his trip to Syria in April was to work on patching up diplomatic relations.
