Student Amnesty Bill passes second time around
The already once vetoed, controversial 'student amnesty bill', got its come back yesterday as it passed parliament with the three-fifths majority needed, 349 out of 550 were in favor of the bill. The bill, which offers amnesty to students who have been expelled since 2000, some for wearing the headscarf, will pardon at least 240,000 students. |

Fraudsters producing false credit cards on the net have been caught
It has come to light that gangs of criminals in Turkey were getting 'foreign bank's customers' personal credit card information from international crooks' and creating fake credit cards. Police have been trying to stamp out their networks for four months, ten people are now in custody as a result of the investigation. It appears that some of the biggest crooks in the operation were located in Turkey. |

Aydın denies claims about damage to Gelibolu graves in roadwork
Turkish State Minister Mehmet Aydin has rejected claims that unmarked graves of soldiers were damaged during the improvement of the coastal road on the Anzac Cove on the Gelibolu (Gallipoli) Peninsula.Speaking to reporters, Aydin, who is currently in Australia, asked ustralia to show proof for those allegations, and said, ''in case these claims are proven, I will help a deep investigation into this matter.'' |
