Turkish Ambassador to Germany Mehmet Ali Irtemcelik said on Saturday, "only historians have the right to make decisions about historical events." Irtemcelik released a statement about a draft resolution, which will be submitted to the German federal parliament in April by CDU/CSU group under the title of "commemoration of Armenians on the 90th anniversary of their relocation and massacre on April 24th, 1915 - Germany should contribute to provide peace between Turks and Armenians". |

PM Erdogan due to Ethiopia and South Africa
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will pay official visits to Ethiopia and South Africa between March 2nd and 5th, 2005. Prime Minister Erdogan will leave for Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on March 1st. An official welcoming ceremony will take place in honor of Prime Minister Erdogan on March 2nd. |

Huebner: Turkey may join EU in 2015
Danuta Huebner, a member of the European Commission, predicted on Friday that the European Union (EU) would expand rapidly in the next decade, with Turkey joining the bloc around 2015.In a speech prepared for a seminar at Sussex University in Britain, Huebner said that Croatia might catch up with Bulgaria and Romania to enter the 25-nation EU in 2007. |

Turkey condemns suicide attack in Tel Aviv
Turkey strongly condemned last night's suicide attack in Tel Aviv. Releasing a statement on Saturday, Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, ''we harshly condemn this heinous attack which was apparently staged by those who are aiming to harm recent hopeful atmosphere in the Middle East. Turkey stresses once again that such unjustifiable acts of violence will not serve efforts to lead Palestinian people to take their place in the international community under the roof of a sovereign and sustainable state. We believe thatPalestinian administration will take all necessary measures to prevent such attacks.'' |

More than 115.9 thousand motor vehicles registered in December of 2004
Automobiles are at the first place among 115,963 motor vehicles registered in December of 2004. The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) said on Saturday that automobiles took the first place with 50.1 percent, followed by small trucks with 30.4 percent, motorcycles with 7.9 percent and trucks with 4.7 percent among all motor vehicles registered in December of 2004. |

Aydın case before High Tribunal
The High Tribunal on Thursday recognized the right of the Finance Ministry and Public Works & Housing Ministry to intervene in the case of Koray Aydin, a former public works & housing minister accused of irregularities and abuse of power.Informing reporters about the interim decision made at the morning session, High Tribunal Chairman Mustafa Bumin said that this decision was made unanimously since the mentioned ministries could suffer some harms with the crimes attributed to Aydin.Then, lawyers of these two ministries joined today's hearing. |
