Four Killed in Suicide Bombing

A Suicide bomber killed at least four and injured dozens of Israelis waiting to enter a nightclub close to the Tel Aviv beach front Friday night. The bombing comes as a big blow to the truce that had recently been established between Israel and Palestine at a meeting between the two leaders February 8. in Egypt. 
Denktas: "Talat's mission is to preserve TRNC's independence''
President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Rauf Denktas has stated that the mission of TRNC's Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Talat is to preserve the country's independence at all costs. ''Talat should not support nor tolerate any motives that would hurt the independence of Turkish Cypriots,'' said Talat.

Turkey and the United States agreed on Wednesday to set up a permanent ''consultative forum'' on matters like Russia, Caucasus and Central Asia within the framework of their ''strategic dialogue.''Halil Akinci, the Director General of Turkish Foreign Ministry responsible for Russia-Caucasus and Central Asia, met Laura Kennedy, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for European & Eurasian Affairs of the Department of State, in Washington yesterday.

NATO Shows Commitment to Training Iraqi Military Forces

NATO members agreed to participate in the training mission of Iraqi military forces yesterday. At the Brussels summit all 26 members agreed to play a role in training the Iraqi military force and issued a provisional list to show their commitment.

Aydın case before High Tribunal

The High Tribunal on Thursday recognized the right of the Finance Ministry and Public Works & Housing Ministry to intervene in the case of Koray Aydin, a former public works & housing minister accused of irregularities and abuse of power.Informing reporters about the interim decision made at the morning session, High Tribunal Chairman Mustafa Bumin said that this decision was made unanimously since the mentioned ministries could suffer some harms with the crimes attributed to Aydin.Then, lawyers of these two ministries joined today's hearing. 
Thousands of Students get 'Amnesty'

Turkey's parliament passed legislation yesterday which granted thousands of students 'Amnesty', allowing them to return to university. The amnesty applies to students who were kicked out of university on academic or disciplinary grounds after June 29. 2000.
