The TRNC Foreign Ministry stated , "The Greek Cypriot administration was trying to reward members of EOKA organization, instead of assuming a constructive attitude to reach a solution in Cyprus. So the international community should not stay silent to this
anti-pacifist attitude of the Greek Cypriot administration.''
Recalling the positive vote of the Turkish Cypriot people and negative vote of the Greek Cypriot side to the UN plan put to referenda last April, aiming at solution of the Cyprus problem, the Ministry said, ''if the Greek Cypriot side sincerely wants to reach a
solution, it should openly show this will to all international public,particularly the Turkish Cypriot people.''
''All these approaches show that the Greek Cypriot leadership is away from a political solution based on an equal partnership in Cyprus. As the Turkish Cypriot side, we once more reiterate that we are committed to the goal to reach a peaceful solution,'' added the
TRNC Foreign Ministry.
