Best-Seller Criticizes US Policy and Predicts Chaos

A novel has been written about a "not so distant future where the U.S. invade Turkey from Iraqi borders". Turkey's best-seller "Metal Storm" is a thriller that highlights the possible breakdown in U.S.- Turkish relations with regards to the Iraqi war. The book that has sold over a record breaking 100,000 copies in two months and predicts a future that is based on what most Turks fear, the breakdown of stability in the region, is still flying off the shelves.

In the book, U.S. tanks enter Turkey from Iraqi borders taking out Turkish forces and Istanbul is under attack from warplanes.

Turkish novelist Burak Turna, co-author of the best-seller "Metal Storm", said, "It is not an anti-American book, it is really to criticize American foreign policy in the region and to try and prevent something of this magnitude becoming a reality"
