4.8 Billion YTL was Laundered in 8 Years

Following the investigation by the Financial Crimes Board (MASAK) of the Finance Ministry reports show that an estimated 4 billion 800 million YTL (4 quadrillion 800 trillion TL) has been laundered in Turkey over the last eight years. During the eight years investigated 2,138 money-laundering transactions were made. 
Denktas Acts in TV Series to Get his Point Across

Turkish Cypriot President Rauf Denktas is acting in a TV series in order to get high profile media coverage with regards to the struggle by Turkish Cypriots days before the 1974 Peace Operations. "What can I do? I always publicly explained the Cyprus problem but the Turkish media didn't cover this as news. I found this opportunity with the TV series." 
Turkey Invests in Aviation Technology

Turkey is set to buy ten A400M military transportation airplanes, 180 planes will be produced in total and it is being hyped as the airplane of the future in terms of its flight range and carrying capacity. The draft law comprising Turkey's responsibility of 1.5 billion Euros in return for 10 airplanes was approved yesterday at the Foreign Affairs Commission of Parliament. 
Baktat Removes the Controversial Soup Ad

Mustafa Baklan the owner of Baktat, a Turkish food company established in Germany, decided to stop broadcasting the controversial soup ad that has had the media and diplomats in a frenzy. The soup commercial prompted a diplomatic response from Bulgaria under the claims that it presented a negative image of Bulgarian policemen. 
Vakit Halts Circulation in Germany
A German newspaper, Vakit Daily has stopped its sales following an investigation based upon claims that the paper was "inciting the public" and "promoting the denial of the Jewish genocide". Vakit Daily spokesman Mehmet Aydin said, "We have stopped our publication due to intimidating pressures; however, we applied to the European Court of Human Rights." 
Ten U.S. Companies Are In TRNC
U.S. Administration sent representatives from twelve well-known companies operating in Turkey to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) for the purposes of saving TRNC from economic isolation and to aid the planned $30.5 million in trade connections.
