Basbug: Kikuk concerns

Second Chief of Staff General Ilker Basbug said that the situation in Kirkuk with the alteration of the demographic structure was concerning and involved also Turkey. At his monthly press conference, Basbug said that more Kurds than the ones left Kirkuk had returned to the city as reported by the press and the current situation here was concerning. 
Ground Forces Commander: Not a Single Troop from Cyprus

Ground Forces Commander General Yasar Buyukanit gave assurances to Turkish Cypriot President Rauf Denktas, saying that "We shall not pull out a single troop from Cyprus without a permanent peace." On his part, President Denktas said "You have relaxed by heart." 
Ten Million Dollars to Tsunami Victims

After Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan called them on to make the maximum they can for the victims of the Tsunami disaster, businessmen from the TOBB (Turkish Union of Bourses and Chambers) and TIM (Turkish Exporters Assembly) pledged 10 million dollars for the victims, at their luncheon in Dolmabahce Palace. 
Baykal: Erdogan Placed the Sarigul Bomb!

CHP Leader Deniz Baykal said that his party had a threat of pollution because of Mustafa Sarigul and that he was placed into CHP like a time bomb and Prime Minister Erdogan was watching all these, to explode this bomb when the time came. He said in a rally in Samsun that "The candidate of the Sisli Municipality handed a file to PM Erdogan about Sarigul. This file is at present in the hands of the Prime Minister and Interior Ministry. 
Earthquake Takes 2 Lives In Hakkari

Hakkarii and its vicinities were shaken 8 times yesterday. It the quake measuring 5.5, Ali Erdem and his daughter were killed. There are 24 injured people in the region where the people took on the streets in spite of the temperature of 10 degrees. 
PKK Parties in Ballots in Istanbul
Two political parties set up by PKK are also included in the ballots regarding the Iraqi elections. Iraqis are permitted to vote in 14 countries, including Turkey, other than their country, for the elections. The two PKK-originating parties, are also in the ballots of 11 parties which will be elected by the Iraqi voters. 
Turkoman Envoy: U.S. Told us to Find 200 Thousand Turkomans
Ahmet Muratli, the representative of the Iraqi Turkoman Front in Iraq, said that "U.S. said to us to accept the shift of 100 thousand kurds to Kirkuk and asked from us to find 200 thousand Turkomans.
