Journalist-Author Ugur Mumcu is being remembered on the 12th year of his murder in a bomb-raid on his car. Ceremonies for Mumcu started with a wreath laid in the Ugur Mumcu Park in Batikent Ankara in the morning. Representatives of the Batikent Democracy Platform gathered in front of the monument. Celal Akpinarli , the Board member of the Kemalist Thought Association, said that with his ideas, behavior and enlightening revelations, Mumcu had been a warning element of the society.

Akpinarli said that everything said by Mumcu years ago have become a reality one-by-one and "Many things verifying Ugur Mumcu emerged in the 12-year period. Wish he were herewiith us."

Akpinarli said that those planting a bomb in Mumcu's car were members of an organization   and "The ones killing them were caught. The trigger men were caught. But those ordering the killing could not be captured. There had been no serious effort on this issue."

The whole week will be dedicated to commemorate Mumcu.
