The Russian visit of PM Erdogan produced a new line, besides the natural gas line Blue Stream. Erdogan and Russian leader Vladimir Putin agreed on trading electric energy through a cable line beneath the Black Sea, like the Blue Stream. For the line to be thus laid, the term "Blue Cable" was mentioned. Energy Minister Hilmi Guler said that the project work for the project will begin immediately.

Guler said that the two sides had also discussed to extend the Blue Stream Project to the South, from Samsun to Ceyhan and that there were 2 options on this issue. He said that liquid natural gas will be delivered to 3rd countries by constructing LNG terminals or the natural gas would be supplied to Israel from beneath the sea. A storage of about 5 billion cubic meters will be constructed beneath the Salt Sale, to store the natural gas.

Guler said that Russia was interested in entering the natural gas distribution bids and electric generation-transmission and distribution tenders in Turkey, and were also interested ir natural gas, coal and hydraulic power stations which were to be privatized.
