Turkey-Iraq-U.S. To Meet
Turkey, Iraq and U.S. are meeting Tuesday in Ankara to discuss means to remove PKK from Northern Iraq. Turkey's Iraqi Envoy Ambassador Osman koruturk will host the talks to be held at the Bilkent Hotel. Iraqi Deputy Foreign minister Hamid Al Bayati and U.S. Deputy Undersecretary Laura Kennedy will lead their delegations in the talks. |

66-Year-Old Problem Ended
An additional clause inserted to the trade agreement between Turkey and Syria had solved silently, the Hatay problem between Turkey and Syria. The additional clause provided for the two countries to recognize each other's borders. Syria which for long years defended teh otherwise (Claiming a right on Hatay province) had thus officially recognized that Hatay belonged to Turkey. |

Death Without A Reason
Prof. Sadettin Guner and his 3-year-old son were killed in Trabzon by mistake.
The suspected assassins, Ismet Meral and Burak Reis had intended to kill Bayramoglu because the brothers of this cafe owner had killed their relative. The two then killed Prof. Guner and his son by mistake. |

Israeli Delay For Elections
In the Presidential elections yesterday in Palestine, the time of voting was postponed 2 hours because of people who were stuck to the Israel control points. The elections started yesterday morning at 07.00 within the Turkey time but after some voters were held in the Israel check points though they had voting documents, the closing time of the chests was prolonged to 21.00. |

Discipline Board For Members
Cafer Dursun and Engin Baba, the members of the High Discipline Board of Republican people's Party were sent by the party administration to the High Discpiline Board too. The two had voted against expelling Sisli's Mayor Mustafa Sarigul from the party. Dursun waas also found out to have admitted that he had offered a bribe to another YDK member Ergun Aydogan. The two are facing expulsion from the party. |
