243 pieces of jewelry of Pelin Balkaner who is the wife of the former owner of Yurtbank which was seized by TMSF (Saving Insurance Deposit Fund), was sold yesterday. The jewelers were very interested on the goods which TMSF sold with a pre-value of 259 000 YTL that consist of pearls, diamonds, gold, ruby and watches.

The highest price obtained in the auction was for a diamond ring of 6,82 carats which had a pre-value of 40 000 YTL but was sold for 47 600 YTL.

During the auction, Cevher Özden, who is known as 'Banker Castelli' entered the hall and claimed that the values of the jewels are intentionally low.

He yelled "They sell the jewel worth 10 Million Dollars for 250 Thousand YTL. The Republic is rubbed this way. "

He also prevented the beginning of the auction for a while. The jewelers in the hall said "If you are not comfortable about the prices, you pay those prices and get them." Özden said that he was not there for the auction and left the building. The officials of TMSF said that they will report crime about Özden for handicapping the auction.
