Softening Signal From the EU
EU and Turkey started to make reciprocal steps. The oral assurance of Turkey will be sufficient about Cyprus. The expression of "When necessary" will be added to the expression of "permanent derogations." 
Recognize Greek Cypriots, and Join

After long discussions the EU agreed on the draft text of the final declaration of its summit. Talks with Turkey will begin in 3 October 2005,with the condition that Turkey recognized southern Cyprus. The text read that "To begin negotiations on October 3, Turkey fulfills the responsibility of signing the annexed protocol with Southern Cyprus and to indirectly recognize that state. 
Dinner Crisis With France

A dinner crisis took place between PM Erdogan and French President Chirac, because of misinformation. After meeting Greek PM Karamanlis, Erdogan met Turkish journalists. Because of wrong information he got from journalists, Erdogan said that French President Jacques Chirac had not attended the dinner that began at 19.15. 
The Uzans' 'Pinhole' Meant 'Judge'

The code of the telephone calls between Cem and Hakan Uzan was solved. The word 'pinhole' meant 'judge', 'concerto' meant 'expert' and 'opera'meant 'court'. The codes of the satellite telephone talks between the Genc Party Head Cem Uzan and Hakan Uzan who is being sought with the red bulletin by Interpol and his men to save Imar Bank is being solved. 
Without Any Crisis With IMF This Time
Turkey which drew 18 stand-by agreements with IMF until now, is now preparing to draw a new stand-by agreement, free of any crisis. After reaching consensus with IMF on the draft of the letter of intent, Turkey will sign the new stand by agreement in January 2005. 
Russians Are Sad
Russian daily Izvestia voiced concerns over Turkey saying, "We might loseour closest and most accessible neighbour. "If Turkey enters EU, Turkish businessmen will not buy raw material or goods from Russia any more. 
No Reduction In Tradition Murders Any More
The High Appeals Court upheld the life prison sentence given to a man for killing his sister for traditional reasons. Cahit Ince, 24, had killed her sister Cigdem, 16, when she got pregnant in an affair.
