Ali Coskun said that, under the Protocol, a follow up committee will be setup by the two countries and that a Turkish mission will visit Rome in February to continue their collaboration. So far, 1100 Turkish companies have applied to attend that meeting.
Coskun said that numerous Italian companies were preparing to invest in Turkey and "We were told that investments above 3 billion dollars will come next year from Italy."
Recalling that Italy ranked 2nd among the countries which Turkey imported and ranked 4th in the list of the countries it exported, Coskun said that 251 Italian companies were active in Turkey at the moment.
Adolff Urso said that Italy supported Turkey's EU membership all the time and wanted its negotiations to begin without delay.
