EP Adopted Turkey Report, Turned Down Motion for Special Partnership
The European Parliament adopted thee report about Turkey which calls on beginning membership negotiations without delay. The report of Camiel Eurlings was adopted by 451 votes in favor. 227 votes were against. 
Balkanende: Yes to Turkey
Jan-Peter Balkanende the Foreign Minister of EU Term President Netherlands said that a negotiating date will be given to Turkey in the 17 December summit. Speaking in Amsterdam, he said thaat he believed that EU leaders will say Yes to Turkey but the decision will be taken unanimously. 
Last Two Days in Waiting Room
Traffic got intensified in capital cities, 2 days ahead of the December 17 summit. Prime Minister Erdogan and Foreign minister Gul are flying to Brussels today. They have in their bag, an important Cyprus dossier which they might put on the table “when necessary.” The dossier includes two papers. 
Horror in Gala
A fire braking out in the theatre during the gala of horror film “Spell” in Istanbul, put the decorations on flame in the entry of the building. Hundreds of people made a narrow escape from death. 
Pass Words of Uzan

Cem Uzan was communicating for months, with his fugitive brother Hakan Uzan. In these conversations, all secret matters, including, evading the military service, are being mentioned with codes. In a conversation, Cem Uzan tells Hakan that “There is a team of 8 people. Three elephants and two baby elephants to these 8 people.” 
Ten Bn. Dollars By IMF
State Minister Ali Babacan announced that Turkey and IMF agreed on a new stand by under which a 10-bililon-dollar loan will be provided to Turkey until 2007. 
Zana: Kurd Intellectuals Play for Themselves

Leyla Zana replied those criticizing her, from France. She accused the group which she called “Kurd intellectuals” of “Being detached from the people”, and said that “Each of these are playing a different instrument.” Yasar Kaya and some other Kurd intellectuals had criticised Zana and her friends because of the advert they gave to foreign dailies. 
Blair to Make 3 Proposals
British Prime Minister Tony Blair is making these three proposals to eliminate the worries of Germany and France over Turkey; 
France Mentions Genocide
French Foreign Minister Michel Barnier said that the Armenian genocide issue will be a topic of negotiation between Turkey and EU and he mentioned the word “Genocide” for the first time Tuesday. Armenians printed an advert at Liberation daily calling on President Chirac “Not to begin talks without the genocide is recognized.” 
Italian Newspapers in Gaziantep
Italian Foreign Trade minister Adolfo Urso went to Gaziantep, together with 100 businessmen. State Minister Kursad Tuzmen accompanied Urso. Because of the visit, 4-5 local dailies in the city decorated their first pages with Italian headlines. Sabah daily, distributed an Italian newspaper. The first page of Ekin daily said in both Turkish and Italian that “Romans have returned.”
