Members of Greenpeace staged a protest in front of the EU Turkey Representative's office in Ankara, the delivery of vessels carrying toxic remains from EU countries to Aliaga. Two protestors climbed the door of the building opening placards that read , "Turkey is not the garbace of Europe!"

Another group of members demonstrated the poisonous ship parts brought from Europe to Aliaga for demounting.

Erdem Vardar, the official of the group said that more than 50 European ships carrying toxic material were sent to Turkey for dismantling.

Vardar said that "Brussels promised to us to take the necessary precautions to eliminate toxic material. EU should extend financial aid to Turkey to manage this area more effectively to avoid pollution. "
