8 Conditions from Turkey to EU

Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul handed an official letter to EU Term President, Dutch Foreign Minister, Bernard Bot announcing the conditions of Turkey about the 17 December Summit. Turkey’s conditions include:

The aim of the negotiations must be full membership.

Cyprus can not be put as a condition before Turkey.

The starting date of the negotiations must be clear.

A second meeting should not be necessary for the negotiations with Turkey

A special statue can not be applied on Turkey.

In the final report, expressions about Turkey, which would be against EU laws ,should not be present.

The negotiation process should be a continuous one.

The negotiations with Turkey can not depend conditions. (Hürriyetim)
