With a total of 800 operations carried out, the Security Office Units eliminated most of the counterfeit publications in Ankara. In the operations carried out over 2.2 million materials were confiscated and legal action was taken against 478 people.

With the counterfeit law, which was brought on 12 March 2004, the illegal duplication, distribution and the sale of CD, books, tapes and DVD in open areas were prohibited. 25 units formed by 75 officers carried out operations to key places where the sale of counterfeit products were made and eliminated most of the counterfeit publication in the city. 4 officers were wounded during the operations.
