Erdogan: Do Not Disturb Chirac

Prime Minister Erdogan could not turn down the comprehension wish of French President Chirac who could not directly say Yes to E.U. membership of Turkey because of public pressure. Erdogan told his staff not to disturb Chirac until 17 December.

PM Erdogan took into consideration the words of Chirac in the meeting in Berlin who said that: In order for me to help, you should help me monsieur.
PM Erdogan warned his party executives to stay away from statements, which would disturb Chirac.

In the General Meeting of his party, PM Erdogan told the deputies and party executives that they believed that the decision of Chirac in 17 December would be positive and that Chirac demanded the necessary understanding from Turkey, taking into account his internal public problems. Erdogan said that for this reason they would try to stay away as much as possible from statements that could bother him until 17 December and demanded the same from the party representatives.
