The prices of vehicles such as Transit Connect, Megan II Sedan, Doblo and Corolla Verso, which are manufactured only in Turkey and sold to the world, are much more higher in the domestic market.
The Special Consumption Tax increase to automobiles entered into effect as of today. Together with the regulation reflected to the prices of automobiles as an increase between 1 and 30 billion TL, Turkey became a country where her locally-manufactured automobiles are sold more expensive than the countries which they are exported.
The most important vehicles, which are manufactured in Turkey and exported to Europe, are Ford Transit Connect, Megane II Sedan, Fiat Doblo and Toyota Corolla Verso. In the first 9 months of this year, in Turkey, while Ford manufactured 127 thousand 708 Transits, Renault manufactured 149 thousand 728 automobiles, mainly Megane II Sedan, Tofas manufactured 56 thousand 195 Doblo’s and Toyota manufactured 95 thousand 492 automobiles, mainly Corolla Verso.
