The White House officially announced the victory of Bush who received 51 % of the vote against Kerry who got 49 %. Bush was re-elected President with an unexpected vote percentage. His 51 % vote exceeded the votes received even by Bill Clinton, one of the most charismatic presidents of U.S. Clinton was elected with 43 % of votes in 1992 and re-elected in 1996, with 49 %.

The campaign of Bush which he carried out on moral values and fighting terrorism and gave the message that he was a strong and determined leader, increased the numerical superiority of his Republican Party in the both parts of the Congress.
