Minority Coup

During the press conference about the controversial Minority Report, Turkish Kamu-Sen Trade Union's Secretary General Fahrettin Tokus grabbed the report from the hands of Prof. Ibrahim Kaboglu, the Chairman of the Prime Ministerial Consulting Board and tore it into pieces.

After tearing the report apart, Yokus threw it on the table. Kaboglu ended his the press conference because of physical abuse. Later on he blamed Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, which the board is attached to, of pursuing a double-sided policy.

The press conference of Prof. Ibrahim Kaboglu turned into a live human rights violation. Board Member Yokus took Kaboglu's text from his hands, yelling that the report was not fair, not legitimate, and that who were they kidding and tore it apart and threw it on the table. Kaboglu ended his press conference because of this physical interference.

While Yokus grabbed the report from Prof. Kaboglu and tore it into bits, his supporters were also present in the hall.  While tearing the document, Yokus said, "We shall not allow the Lausanne Treaty be discussed! This is mere provocation!"

Later on Kaboglu came back to the press conference and condemned the attack against him. Kaboglu said that they, as the Human Rights Consulting Board, condemned this ugly and physical attack and he called on the people, institutions, governmental organs and NGOs which fought for human rights, to be sensitive towards these kinds of incidents.
