Even Peker Was Astonished
A warrant of arrest was issued at 18.00 Saturday for Sedat Peker who was released of detention at 03.00 Saturday and who told reporters that "I was not expecting this too."

Straw We May Start Immediately
Coming to Ankara for a working visit, British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw gave the good news that the negotiations could be launched at the first half of 2005. Straw gave the following message to Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul with whom he met yesterday at breakfast: people of Luxembourg told us that they wished to launch the negotiations with Turkey during their own term presidency.

Swedish Foreign Minister Laila Freivalds with whom Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul met in Ankara, said that she was content with the recommendation of the EU Commission and Sweden was looking forward to the launching of negotiations.  
3 More Years With Arinc
Justice and Development Party (AKP) Manisa deputy Bulent Arinc sat on the Parliament Speaker’s seat, which he left on October 1, again one week later. When Serpil Yildiz withdrew at the third round, Arinc was elected as the parliament speaker for the second time with 381 votes.

Former DEP Deputies Recieve Green Passports
Former deputies of ethnic Democracy Party, Leyla Zana, Orhan Dogan and Hatip Dicle Sadak were handed their privileged Green Passports, by the Security Directorate.  
Take Lesson from Uzan Scandal
The Uzan family was also provided in the Turkey Progress Report approved by the EU. The report included criticism that that the Uzan scandal was unveiled very late were in Turkey. While the Progress Report on Turkey called on for respect the independence of the Banking Regulatory and Supervisory Council (BDDK), it also mentioned the “Uzans.” 
Bomb to Patriarchate
A sound bomb placed in the garden of the Greek Patriarchate caused material damage. The blast occurred at about 03.00 shattering the windows of the church and the offices of clerics.
