Swedish Foreign Minister Laila Freivalds with whom Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul met in Ankara, said that she was content with the recommendation of the EU Commission and Sweden was looking forward to the launching of negotiations.

Saying that the things they would do in the future would be more interesting than the past, Freivalds stated that they expected for the decision to launch the negotiation process be rendered on December 17. She said, “We wish that the negotiations be launched as soon as possible. We believe that Turkey belongs to the EU.”
