He said, "The reactionary movements which use religious exploitation as the main tool and aims at removing all the contemporary gains of Turkey, is still a threat to our constitutional order, The exploitation of religion damages our constitutional order and democratic development."

Sezer said that Turkey has arrived at an important stage in the process of EU which symbolizes universal values and high living conditions and meant implementing the project of Ataturk to attain the level of contemporary civilizations. 

Sezer said that Turkey's EU membership was the strongest message to be given to the Moslem world and "We should not give a strong hand to those who want to keep Turkey outside the EU." Sezer said that "In spite of making all sacrifices and displaying a sincere compromise, Turkey and Turkish Cypriots have not arrived in a just point in their rightful cause. "

KIRKUK WARNING

Sezer said that Turkey will continue acting for an intact, democratic and prosperous Iraq. He added that it was only natural for Turkey to attach importance on the situation of Turkomans in Iraq and that, efforts to dominate Kirkuk by a specific ethnic group will trigger internal strife and regional instability.  

Regarding the activities of PKK in Iraq, Sezer said  "We expect from our strategic partner U.S. to fulfill its responsibilities in this respect."
