D.U. lives in Istanbul and her illness started 5 years ago. No diagnosis could be made for a long time. When her dizziness came to unbearable levels, she applied to Social Security Administration Ankara Education Hospital. Here, the diagnosis of Creutzfeld-Jakob was made for D.U.
She was sent to Hacettepe Hospital for a full diagnosis. The same diagnosis was made here as well. However, Hacettepe Hospital experts say, "The form of Creutzfeld-Jakob in animals is mad cow. No definite prognosis can be made without any biopsy. In order for us to say mad cow, there shall be the variant form."
It was reported that Creutzfeld-Jakob was a disease which is experienced one in a million.
