Gul, who came together with his Chinese colleague in New York where he went for the United Nations general assembly meeting, made proposals for the balancing of trade between two countries. Recalling that the trade volume between Turkey and China was 2.8 billion dollars, Gul underlined that the Turkey's share was only 500 million dollars.
Gul proposed, "We are only selling cars and almonds to you. This shall be balanced. Our construction may make business in China and you may send us tourists." The Chinese Minister said, "You are right; this difference attracted my attention as well. We will show the necessary facility to Turkish businessmen."
