Ustacelebi, who got his Ph.D. degree from Glasgow University and studies on mad cow, said, "This is not a virus disease, but an illness caused by molecules entitled prion. There is no factor fixed in the world as regards that it is transmitted to people through blood."
Ustacelebi added, "If the bloods in question, which were imported by Turkey, were used, there is no such thing that this disease was absolutely infected.
However, if these bloods were distributed and used, then it must be followed to whom they were given. If they were not used, they must be destroyed."
