The National Intelligence Agency (MIT) handed Faik Meral, who retired from MIT and who was the owner of the privileged Green Passport which was found on Alaattin Cakici, who was captured in Austria on Wednesday, to the police. Cakici was captured in Austria on Wednesday with Meral's passport, with his picture on it.

MIT announced that Meral had been warned beforehand, because he continued to make use of the opportunities of MIT, after his retirement. MIT said that they had no affiliation with Meral since he retired from MIT. Meanwhile, Meral had been detained of extorting money in 2002.
