General Ozkok Orders Reforms

Chief of General Staff, General Hilmi Ozkok gave "Principle orders" to all army units, to have the Turkish Armed Forces geared to the 21st Century. The orders of Gen. Ozkok which are described as a reform in the army include; transparent tenders, more effective units, reformizing military schools and having commanders become persuasive instead of authoritarian.  
Commercial Recognition to TRNC
The European Union approved a decision lifting the commercial embargo imposed on the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. By this decision, TRNC will be able to export its products freely. Indirect taxes will not be imposed on these goods. These measures will be an effective recognition of TRNC commercially, if not politically.  
Turkish Banks Are At The Peak
“The Banker” magazine announced the “Top 1000 World Banks” List of the year 2003. 14 Turkish banks were included in the list and due to the rapid rise of these banks, Turkey became the champion in the base of country groups. In the list of “The most- rapid rises”, Turkey ranked first along with the U.S. 
Discount War In Telecommunication
Turk Telecom announced its new price list, which will be valid from August. The firm, whose monopoly in the telephone and infrastructure sector has ended, made discounts by 29%-80% through 5 different packages, before the competition started.
