According to the Associated Press, U.S. President George Bush is to ask from the allies in the NATO Summit in Istanbul on Monday, to suppress the violence in Iraq. Whether this assistance will include military troops or not, is unknown.

Bush is to submit the demands of Iraqi P.M. Iyad Allavi, to the allies at the NATO Summit and to ask for assistance after the hand-over of the administration on June,30.

Talking at the oath ceremony of John D. Negroponte, the new U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell said; There might be new participation to the 32-county coalition in Iraq. I am sure that the Iraqi nation will have new partners.

On Sunday, President Bush will meet PM Erdogan, visit Ataturk’s Mausoleum and then have a working lunch with President Sezer.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy in Ankara announced that it had not demanded new bases and soldier deployment from Turkey.
