Earlier in tne day a blast occured in front of the Hilton Ankara Hotel where U.S. President George Bush will stay at week end. The foot of a police officer was hurt and the face of another one was injured.
Upon tip-off that a suspicious package was found 50 meters away from the Hotel, policemen arrived in site. The bomb blasted when police approached it.
One of the policemen is in bad condition as his knee was hit badly. The Hacettepe University said that 2 policemen and a civilian were brought to hospital, after the incident. Another suspicious package was reportedly found close to the Hilton Hotel.
One of the injured journalists was taken to surgery.
