Erdogan: No General Pardon

Responding harshly to DEHAP leader Tuncer Bakirhan who accused his government of failing to adopt a political and just solution to the Kurd problem, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said that “This government has taken all steps within a program. There is nothing I cah say if there are some people who have difficulty in understanding our steps.”

Upon the demand of Bakirhan for an unconditional general pardon, Erdogan said “But i will be very sad if there are some who has difficulty in understanding our steps, while our people and the world did. The current government has taken unprecedented steps.”

Erdogan went on to say that the meeting of Foreign minister Gul with the former deputies, in his capacity as Deputy Prime Minister, has been a very important initiative and that, he would meet Zana and friends, if they would ask for a meeting.
