Some of the civilians called on the army to intervene; however Ozgen and Baser said that an intervention of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in a democratic regime, to the political will, was out of question.
Ozgen said; “TSK can not strain the democratic rules, exceeding its legal authorities. The General Staff monitors all developments and makes its legal warnings. There is no intervention, except that. The decision belongs to the political will. Please, there is democracy in this country! TSK is sensitive on two issues: The unity of the state and reactionary movements. We do not allow them. However an intervention is out of question in democracy.”
