Blair Pays the Price of Iraq War in Elections

The British Labor Party of P.M. Tony Blair paid the price of its Iraqi occupation with U.S., in the local elections. The Party ranked third, after the Conservative and Liberal parties.

The Labor Party suffered from a loss in its votes and lost 228 chairs at the municipal assembly. According to the votes which were counted until now, the Conservative Party won 102 chairs and the Liberal Party  85 chairs in the municipal assembly elections.

Analysts expect the Conservative Party to rank first with a vote of 38 %, Liberal Party second with 30 % and Labor Party third with 26 %. The returns of the London municipal elections are expected to become certain tonight. The counting of the votes which were cast for the European Parliament elections, is to start on Sunday.
