He said that result of the referendum in Cyprus (in which Greek Cypriots rejected a settlement) was disappointing and that, there was a big opportunity for Cyprus to unite.
Vorkink said that there was a difference of income between the two sides; that the growth rate of TRNC was 6% while of Southern Cyprus was 2%; in this way the growth potential of TRNC was higher than of Southern Cyprus.
Pointing out that TRNC needed reforms on banking, public administration and social security sectors, Vorkink said; if the status of TRNC was to be determined, foreign investments would expectedly be carried out. The tourism potential of TRNC is higher than of Southern Cyprus.
