Islamist Vakit newspaper was sentenced to pay a fine of 1 trillion TL , with interests, to 312 generals and admirals for saying that Turkey was a country in which “Those who could not be even Corporals, became Generals.”

The Ankara Court of First Instance kept H. Dogan, -who was also appointed as a member of the High Radio-TV Institution RTUK- of writing that article in the Islamist daily. Dogan was using the name Asim Yenihaber in the article.
