Tight Measures for NATO Summit
Turkey entered a security alarm for the NATO Summit which it will host in Istanbul on June 28-29. The tightest security measures are to be taken for the biggest organization in the Republic's history. The security plans were made on the basis of ground, sea and air.

German youngsters protested Christian Democrat leader Angela Merkel who said in an election rally in Munch that Turkey will be denied admittance to the European Union.

According to the records of police, the manager of Besiktas (BJK) Soccer Club, Sinan Engin talked to Mafia figure and fugitive Alaattin Cakıcı, his brother Gencay and his nephew Adem Cakıcı for 62 times in the last two months. 
Last Warning By EU
The Turco-EU Association Council meeting held on Tuesday in Brussels produced the message to Turkey to speed of the implementation of reforms. The recipe given to Turkey to receive a negotiation date from EU has been: “Implement reforms completely, begin broadcast in mother’s tongue, display good will for (ethnic deputy) Leyla Zana, grant the rights of Non- Moslems.” 
Babacan: We should wait for IMF
State Minister Ali Babacan said that they did not want to take a bilateral decision on relations to be continued with IMF for after 2004 and "An IMF mission will arrive on 3 June. We do not want to mak any decision wiithout discussion options with them. We can not take one-sided action." 
Bush to meet Erdogan before Sezer
Details of the Turkey visit of U.S. President Bush for the NATO summit are kept under great secrecy. However Hurriyet learned that Bush who will be in Istanbul on 28 and 29 May, added Ankara to his program.
