The latest Constitutional amendment package ended the presence of the representative of the General Staff, at the Higher Education Board YOK. However the YOK law maintains this membership. If President Sezer ratifies the law, the YOK law will be handicapped.

Denktas: I will not run for Presidency
Turkish Cypriot President Rauf Denktas said that he will not run in next year's presidential elections and that, either Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Talat or Deputy P.M. Serdar Denktas would replace him. 
'Obstinacy Law' Passed
In spite of all the reaction of the university and General Staff, the motion which open wide, the doors of university to the preacher school graduates and removed all the members of YOK, was passed by Parliament in a 18-hour marathon. 
High Tribunal For Former Ministers
The Investigation Commission into the Embezzlement in Halk Bank, decided to send former Ministers Husamettin Ozkan and Recep Onal to the High Tribunal Court.  
Bomb-loaded Car in TRNC
Numerous C-4 type bombs and other explosives were found in a car parked outside Lefkose, by a non-commissioned officer from the Turkish Peace Keeping Forces.  
Yilmaz : Yigit is Liar, Send Me To High Tribunal Court
Former P.M. Mesut Yilmaz testified at the Turkbank Commission for the Turkbank tender embezzlement case. He said, “Korkmaz Yigit is a professional liar; this was verified by the verdict of court. This case should be taken up by independent authorities and therefore I want to be tried at the High Tribunal Court.”
